On the 11th day of Celebration, the Brethren Court gave to me... a terrifying discovery!

Ahoy matey!

It’s been so long since I’ve seen another face, trapped on this rock with all these stumps has been drivin’ me near mad! Say, do ye have a ship? Might I be able to hitch a ride? No? Ah well, yer loss anyways. I’ve been buildin’ me own ship to escape with, and I promise it’ll be ten times bigger than that scrap of driftwood ye use to get around! HAH!

Say, mate, how many stumps have ye destroyed? Do ye ever wonder what, er… drives ‘em? Like, what makes those tree husks alive? Well, since I’ve been surrounded by so many and destroyed my fair share to build me boat,  I’ve noticed that they have a sort of, heart. When ye chop the wood coverin’ their hollow chest, there’s a voodoo-powered doll suspended by vines and roots.

I made this distinct discovery whilst I was choppin’ away some o’ the devils. Must be what Roger uses to control the stumps, I reckon. I will say, however, those dolls have a curse about them. They don’t stay for very long after the stump dies out. They usually just turn to dust after the stump bites it.

But, there was one stump, Devil Root, that I was able to extract the doll from before it faded, was able to snag it when some unsuspecting pirate gunned the beast down. They didn’t have a clue what I made off with when I reached into its chest and pulled the doll out!

Oh yeah, another thing, mate, that’s a nice looking sword ye have there. Have ye seen a blue one about? I saw some bloke carryin’ one around here the other day–he wouldn’t give his name, though when I asked. He did say however that he was off to Tortuga after he was finished here. Said something about a fancy new pistol. Bunch of junk if ye ask me.

Well anyways, pirate. Nice talkin’ to ye. Until next time, I suppose.
