The Legend of Pirates Online (TLOPO) is an ongoing fan-made recreation of Disney's now-closed MMO, Pirates of the Caribbean Online (POTCO).
About the Game
Originally released in October 2007, Pirates of the Caribbean Online was a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) created by the Disney Interactive Media Group.
Pirates Online shut down on September 19th, 2013. Shortly after the game's closure, the game's community began work on their own recreation of the game. After a decade of volunteer work, we have fully recreated the original game and have begun work on adding our own new content.

Features
- Added three new dyes to Tailor shops: Light Orange, Orange, and Dark Orange. These have also been added to loot, as that is the case for all Tailor shop dyes. Along with this, the UI for the dyes has been adjusted to allow for 8 columns of dyes to be visible at once.
- Added new "Crowd Optimization" settings option which will apply:
- Reduced effects (does not apply to effects created by your own player pirate)
- Reduced water animations
- Disable NPC notice system + notice system collisions
- Reduced animation mixing for other pirates
- This setting is turned on by default for all players and only kicks in if there are 30+ players loaded into the same area simultaneous. We appreciate your feedback!
Enhancements
- Changed the names of some dyes in the Tailor Shop to be unified under one naming convention. Previously there were two Light Greens in the Tailor shop for example!
- Swapped the positions of Brown and Light Brown in the code. This means that any Brown or Light Brown clothes owned by players will have their dye colors swapped. We apologize for the inconvenience. To compensate for this, we are giving out a redeem code: "veryverysorry"
- Changed the names of various dyes, including some that were previously thought to be the same as tailor shop dyes. Happy hunting!
- Adjusted the colors of Electric Blue and Bright Purple per Player Feedback on the Test Server. These were the only two dyes that changed, all others remain the same.
- Adjusted the Electric Blue Hair Color in the Bilgewater barber shop to match the new Electric Blue dye color.
Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug where party hats would not drop occasionally.
- Fixed a crash when joining a lobby with a code.
- Fixed a crash with ship collisions.
- Fixed a GUI-related crash on logout.
- Fixed a major GUI memory leak that happened whenever other players were generated around you.
- Fixed a server crash with daily quest refreshing.
- Fixed GUI memory leaks with the player profile card.
- Fixed small memory leaks with player state transitions.
- Potentially fixed a crash that happened when rolling dice in Liar's Dice.
Maintenance
- Code cleanup and optimization.
Known Issues
- Players may experience minor animation glitches with Crowd Optimization where an animation gets stuck until the player does some other action.
- The checkbox for the new Crowd Optimization setting is spaced too far to the right.
- The draw distance on islands may become messed up when loading back into the main world from a PvP match or other lobby mode. Logging out then back in should fix this.
